We all have a desire to know who we are or how other people see us. Sometimes we loose ourselves in the noise of the constantly running world. But actually, many contemporary artists are also dealing with this question of identity or the truth, so perhaps such artworks can set you to the right path or at least inspire you. That’s why we have put together some tips from our new contemporary artists.
British illustrator and caricaturist Neale Osborne is exactly one of those who have the talent to inspire while showing you that you don’t need to take yourself so seriously. In his work he depicts renowned artists and celebrities such as Gustav Klimt and the Queen Elizabeth II, but always with a twist 😜. But perhaps this way he is able to capture the real identity of a person… That’s exactly what T. B. Macaulay says: “The best portraits are those in which there is a slight mixture of caricature”.
Another art collection of Neale Osborne is that of models, also drawn with a spontaneous, sometimes joyfully messy dip pen. Fashion can be art, but don’t we sometimes tend to hide under powerful outfits our fears and vulnerability? Or can we, on the contrary, by using them express what is hidden within us? In any case, for fashion enthusiasts, this collection is a real treasure! 😊💃🏻
TO COLLECTION OF NEALE OSBORNE
Australian artist Catherine Abel deals with the theme of identity in a different way. At an early age, Abel was influenced by the Cubist works of Picasso, Braque and Dali, and later found inspiration in the works of Andre Lhote, Tamara de Lempicka, and Italian Renaissance authors. This greatly shaped her work, in which she uses the sleek, stylised geometry of the Art Deco period in order to represent the subjects in a greater complex. In her work she often focuses on the topic of modern female sexuality. Women in her paintings are magnetic – romantic or provocative, but always confident and authentic. Strong women always help each other up, hang these paintings and feel their support and motivation. 💪🏼

Like George Adamson, Neale Osborne also creates some illustrations for children and has even published a bunch of children’s books full of his images and wits!
